Shelter
Re-shingle
by Ray Wilson Many RTA hikers are familiar with the Shelter near Skycroft, dedicated to Allan and Ellen Bonwil. During a recent hike it was pointed out to Jim Lorimer (RTA maintenance coordinator) that the roof was in dire need of repair. Within two weeks the job was started, and made possible by the generous offer of Jim and Anne Barton (Skycroft) to transport our new shingles to the site, and also transport the old shingles back to Jim Lorimer's van after they had been removed and boxed. Four RTA volunteers carried in all other equipment necessary for the work to be completed. The crew was Jim Lorimer, Stan Huff, Don Coulter and Bill Birdsall. The work was done on 3rd and 6th Nov 2009 Here is a Pictorial account of there efforts. Hey Ho, Hey Ho
