If these typical outings interest you, you may wish to become a member of the RTA.
As a member you will receive the quarterly newsletter which includes a list of all the hikes, social activities for the season, news from each of the clubs, and other interesting and informative articles.

Outings in the Ottawa club are generally organized for Saturdays and Sundays. On some weekends two activities are held on each day. They are organized well in advance of the day, to be held at a definite location on the trail or (usually) somewhere in the Ottawa region.

Every Wednesday year 'round, the Wednesday Walkers meet to hike in the Gatineau Park. There are both Level 2 and Level 3 hikes planned. Their departure time is 9:30 am from the South side of Bate Island off the Champlain Bridge.

RTA organized outings commence with all participants gathering at one of the club's meeting locations. From there, those without transportation or who wish to do so, car-pool with other drivers to the starting point for the outing. Times displayed for each outing are departure times from the meeting place and are strictly adhered to.

All outings for each season are described in the quarterly newsletter where additional details may be found. Further details on these hikes may also be had by telephoning the Ottawa 24-hour Infoline at 613-860-2225

Note that outings which require RSVP are not listed on the website.

It's important to arrive properly prepared for the outing, so please consult the leader if you have questions.
