Cataraqui Trail Turnoff

Welcome to the Rideau Trail Association’s new Website! We have been busy for the last few months getting this site ready for members and non-members alike! This new Website makes it easier for you to plan your own hikes on the Rideau Trail or join group outings organized by our local clubs!

This project follows a renewed presence on Twitter, Facebook & Instagram. By now, RTA members will have also seen changes in the look of our popular monthly E-Letter that we send by email. Do you want to receive these emails too? Join the RTA today!

New features & content on this Website include:

  • A list of overnight accommodations – both roofed & camping options.
  • Our Map page now has a Google Map version along with a downloadable KML file along with the PDF maps that have always been there.
  • A refreshed FAQ page.
  • A revamped News section which we will use to post general updates as well as blog-type content – some of which might be adapted from the Newsletter and some which will be exclusive to the Website.
  • French content!

This marks the first redesign for the RTA’s Website since 2007 and it would not have been possible without the guidance & expertise of Paul Jean, the RTA’s outgoing Webmaster who has selflessly devoted himself behind the scenes for the last eight years. Thanks PJ for your hard work and commitment!

The Website was designed for the Rideau Trail Association by Banfield Agency, an Ottawa-based marketing communications agency whose staff includes several avid hikers with roots in Eastern Ontario and who are current members of the RTA.

Do you have ideas for content or want to get involved? Do you know a tech-savvy student who loves the outdoors and who needs of volunteer hours? The RTA is a volunteer-run charitable organization that depends on people like you to volunteer their time. If you’d like to support the Website, please contact us at web@rideautrail.org.

Thanks for reading and stay tuned for more updates from the RTA!
