This page is meant to provide non-members information about the RTA network of trails and their use; as well as an idea of the type and quantity of the various activities that are available to members of the RTA.
Non-members are welcome to hike any/all of the RTA network of trails. Trail information and maps can be found on the Maps page. Those are free to download and use. Please bear in mind that all of the trails cross property that does not belong to the RTA. Please stay on the marked trails, do not litter, and follow good hiking etiquette (see the preparation and trail etiquette page). Please also check to see if there are any relevant trail alerts before venturing out to enjoy the trails, and please advise of us any difficulties or problems using the Trail Report form on that page. Please note that the numbers in the trail alerts (e.g. 08B) correspond to map numbers (e.g. Map 8).

For most activities, RTA members sign up using the RTA Activities Calendar, which uses a service called “Team Up”. Events are posted on a calendar that shows a four-week period using a colour coding indicating the type of event and which club is hosting the event. Clicking on the event brings the member to further descriptions of the event, typically a hike, or a social event or meeting, and gives them the ability to sign up. An example of a five-week event view of the calendar is shown below (in order to show a full month):
/

Above is the page that users will typically see, then they will select the activity on the screen for a closer look or sign-up. It is also possible for members to review and sign up for any future activities on the calendar.
Since we also want to show some details about the events to viewers on this page, below is a detailed listing of one of the events:

We hope that this will give non-members an idea of the number, and type of activities conducted. More general information on ongoing activities can be found in different Club pages (Kingston, Central, and Ottawa), and also the page for joining the RTA.
