The Central Club section of the Rideau Trail begins at Murphys Point Provincial Park and ends at Rosedale, just north of Smiths Falls. The area is very scenic with rivers, lakes and rocky outcrops of the Canadian Shield. It encompasses the historic towns of Perth and Smiths Falls as well as portions of the Rideau Canal. Hikes are organized on most weekends throughout the year as well as on Wednesday mornings.
Group Outings
Organized outings are detailed on our RTA Activity Calendar and hikes are chosen and led by qualified hike leaders. They commence with all participants gathering at the Trail Head or Conlon Farm in Perth. Times displayed for each outing are departure times from the meeting place and are strictly adhered to.
Our quarterly newsletter contains details on some of the outings but all hikes and events are detailed in RTA Activity Calendar with contact information for the leaders. If you have questions or concerns, participants can call or email the leader well in advance of any hike.
Conlon Farm
Those outings departing from Conlon Farm (127 Smith Drive @ Conlon Drive Perth, ON K7H 3N1) typically begin at 9:00 AM unless otherwise specified.
