Wood Road – Grenville Street
From 13A one goes on dirt and gravel roads and through woods in the “Long Bush” where the trail may be wet in places. The trail goes though the town of Merrickville following roads passing many historic houses, Merrickville Locks and later the lovely Nicholson’s Locks. One can also make a short side trip to the McGuigan Cemetery (one of the oldest cemeteries along the Rideau River) along this road to Burritts Rapids. The trail goes through the village of Burritts Rapids and once off Dwyer Hill Rd. passes through a field and woods to Paden Rd., passing by a short detour to the lovely Stoney Steps of Brassils Creek.
