Poonamalie Side Road – Wood Road
A walk from Poonamile Side Road at Road 43 through the town of Smith Falls. Crosses two locks on the canal and crosses the Rideau River on a dam. The trail follows roads and some recreational paths. At the junction of Rosedale Rd. South and Wood Road you will be at 12F
which is the official start of the Ottawa Section.

Permanent Trail reroute in Smiths Falls 12C-12D
The trail between 12C and 12D that originally passed through the industrial area of town has been rerouted to follow the river west on highway 43 and through more residential areas. Map 12 has been updated. Issued 11 Aug 2025.
